Lotus Moment: Living In Lush Glory

Photo of Branch Brook Park by Candace Nicholson

Why This Is Awesome: This week marks the change from summer to fall here in the Northern Hemisphere, so I thought what a perfect opportunity to share this photo of the nearby park during its amazingly lush glory in the height of summer.

Although I am very appreciative of the fact that living near Branch Brook Park has afforded me the chance to 1) get more exercise, 2) leave my home to work through any cabin fever that’s built up during the social isolation/quarantine mandate, and 3) show my neighbors just how goofy I look in a bike helmet, I’m most appreciative of the chance to simply look at it and marvel. And that’s exactly what I do when I see this photo, and why I had to choose it at this month’s Lotus Moment.

I’m also reminded that due to horribly tragic events like the massive wildfires in Colorado, Washington, Oregon and California, and the devastating fires in Australia late last year and earlier this year, images like the one above may not be there to greet us next year.
