Lotus Moments

Lotus Moment: The Next Big Thing

The Journey to Red Rock Canyon

Why this is awesome: A little over 6 years ago, before I arrived on the East Coast, I took a short vacation out to Nevada with my mom. While she was busy with her work-related seminars and workshops at the MGM hotel in Vegas, I got the chance to enjoy a day outside the city in one of the most beautiful landscapes I've ever had the pleasure to behold, Red Rock Canyon.

In the 8 years that I've been sharing Lotus Moments, I've written about this area twice. Once in 2015, shortly after I visited there, and again in 2018. What made those moments similar to this one is not just my desire to post another photo of this area that has moved me profoundly, but each time I shared a photo, my life was about to change significantly.

The photo from 2015 was posted 2 weeks before I relocated to New Jersey. And the photo from 2018 was posted about 6 weeks before I began working for the art gallery.

I'm not sharing this one today in hopes that it will also mark the beginning of a new and important chapter in my life. I'm sharing it because 1) well, just look at it! It's perfect in its imperfection, and 2) I know I'm on the precipice of a new and important chapter in my life, and out of the blue, I suddenly felt compelled to share another photo of this magnificent landscape.

Am I reading too much into this? Maybe. But my intuition says otherwise. And I'm learning to trust my intuition more, ever since I realized that it has rarely, if ever, led me wrong.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, look at that landscape!
