Lotus Moment: Up From Under

Untitled-Under by Austin Romanaux

Why This Is Awesome: Last month was so hectic that I may be spending the month of June trying to course-correct from the May madness. But I assure you, despite my full calendar, I made sure to work in a quick visit or three to gallery openings for artists whose work I admire and respect in the local Northern New Jersey community.

One of those artists is the inimitable Austin Romanaux. You may remember Mr. Romanaux's work from my blog post last year when I waxed effusive about his talent, his energy and his frighteningly prolific career at such a young age. Well,"The More Things Change" exhibition at Grover House Gallery in Caldwell, NJ, is only his second solo show and he's not even 21 yet.

Regardless of age, real recognizes real. And Romanaux is not only an artist to watch, but one to own. His May 21st opening reception saw me take home on a smaller print version of the "Untitled (Portrait)" piece, but someday, I hope to get include one of his larger canvas works, like the above "Untitled (Under)" in my home.

Because of the poor quality of my photo hardly does his work justice, please head over to the Grover House Gallery to partake of Romanaux's 30 original works for this exhibition before it closes on August 23rd.
